What makes women’s wrestling bad, and who is to blame for giving a bad label to it?
I have often read on other forums that Christians are to blame for any kind of censorship in this genre. I don’t think that is accurate in the least. Wrestling is not sex. To the women who work for us it is just wrestling. What they wear is open to what ever we can think of with out any nudity. Men are the ones who sexualize the art of women in battle.
So why can’t women have fun, because men find it sexually stimulating? Boys and teen boys often wrestle and it is expected and encouraged in the forum of armature wrestling. Lots of women find it sexually stimulating to watch guys wrestle (it is not an issue, because women normally don’t talk about it openly). Most young males watch wrestling on TV in the form of pro wrestling. In fact I was involved in pro wrestling and there was nothing sexual about that.
Why should women be excluded? For some one to say it is not proper for a woman to wrestle, all I have to say is, we are beyond the age where men get excited by the site of a woman’s ankle. Maybe it is time to stop splitting hairs and deal with the real problems instead of nit picking.
As a Christian I have no problem with women wrestling, and fail to see the reason why it is so taboo. When something you are interested in with adult tones gets censored it is way too easy to blame every ones favorite scapegoat “those Christians”. Most Christians I know would frown on women wrestling and just stay away from it, because they don’t have the time or care about it enough to be bothered lobbying some politician’s office. Women’s oil and mud wrestling has been around long before I even was aware there was such a thing and all along I have never heard or seen any Christians lobby against it. The way I look at it is…. I guess what this all boils down to is, I wished that people would get all the facts before they start to place blame on any one. For those who are against it then I will close by saying, relax! It is just wrestling. Chaser
At Female Combat Canada the women are not having sex.
They are just wrestling (something that is almost as old as history its self)
They are covered (string bikini at least)
